Questions

Plate questions.

How much does a barbell weigh?

A standard Olympic barbell weighs 45 lb (20 kg). Women’s Olympic bars weigh 35 lb (15 kg). Pick your bar above and the plates adjust.

How many plates is 225?

Two 45 lb plates on each side of a 45 lb bar: 45 + 45 + 45 + 45 + 45 = 225 lb. 135 is one plate a side, 315 is three, 405 is four.

How do I load a leg press?

Pick “No bar” and put in the plate total you want. Sleds weigh different amounts on different machines, so the calculator counts plates only, the way the Evident app logs plate-loaded machines.

Does the bar count as weight?

Yes. The total includes the bar, so 135 lb is a 45 lb bar plus a 45 lb plate on each side. For a leg press or hack squat, pick “No bar” and the total is plates only.

What if my number can’t be loaded exactly?

The calculator loads the closest weight under your number and says so. Turn plates off to match what your gym has, like no 35s or no 2.5s.
